Too Tired to Eat Properly?
I am woman-I am strong-I am invincible-I AM TIRED! How many
of us feel more tired than we used to, lacking energy, or just not having enough
stamina to get through the day? Is it stress or sleep deprivation?-or both?
The American Institute of Stress reports that more than 75% of all doctor visits
involve stress-related complaints. And while more than half of all Americans
are now significantly overweight, most women actually lack key dietary nutrients
which contributes to feelings of fatigue, stress, and low energy.
For many women, a daily multivitamin with iron may be a good start. We know
that more than 6 out of 10 women do not meet the recommended daily allowance-the
RDA-for iron. 8 out of 10 women fail to meet the RDA for zinc. Nearly one
in 3 women don't get enough vitamin B12 and more than twice that don't get enough
vitamin B6, one of the biggest stress busters and energy-producers. Despite
eating way too many calories, nearly a third of American women don't meet the
RDA for muscle building protein, and the average adult woman gets less than
half of the bone-building calcium that she needs.
A daily multivitamin is a good start, but it's not enough. There's no substitute
for a well-balanced diet. For more information, click here.
